Every extra filter should have a reason. A smaller result set is not automatically a better one.
Company filters define the group
Descriptive fields such as exchange, sector, and company size help set the scope of a screen. Use them when they are part of your research question. A sector filter changes the group you study; it does not tell you whether a stock has a particular price pattern.
Price and volume describe observations
Price and volume conditions narrow the list using available market data. Choose bounds that fit the question rather than adding thresholds by habit. Inspect the output fields to confirm what each condition means and which session supplies its value.
Technical filters need enough history
An indicator uses a defined window of observations. A long moving average needs more history than a short one. If the required history is missing, a condition may not be evaluable. Check coverage instead of assuming a missing result means the stock failed every rule.
Review how the rules combine
Combined filters can make a screen very narrow. Run a simpler version when you need to understand which condition removes a stock. Use CleverScan when you want explicit AND and OR groups, and keep those groups easy to read before you save them.
