Build your first stock screen

Turn an idea into a shortlist with AI scan creation or a few clear filters.

Start with a small set of rules you can explain. Add detail only when it improves your research.

Step 01

Choose the question first

Start with something you want to explore: a sector, a price trend, or a change in trading volume. Describe it in CleverScan and select Generate to let AI draft a scan. Read the rules and adjust them to fit your idea, or choose visual filters yourself.

Step 02

Set your universe

Open the stock screener and choose the available market or company filters that fit your question. Check the selected date. The universe defines where the scanner looks; a result outside that universe will not appear, even if it meets every other condition.

Step 03

Add one condition at a time

Use a price, volume, or technical filter and run the screen. Look at the matching rows before adding another condition. If the list becomes empty, remove or widen the last condition and inspect the change. An empty result can reflect strict rules or missing required data.

Step 04

Review and save

Choose relevant result columns, sort the table, and open a few symbol charts. Check that the results match your intended question. Save the scan with a clear name when the rules are useful. Keep selected symbols in your watchlist if you want to follow them separately.
