Build a simple market research routine

Move from the market overview to a focused shortlist and a useful watchlist.

Use the same sequence so changes in the market are easier to distinguish from changes in your process.

Step 01

Begin with dates and context

Open the dashboard and check the available data session. Review the broad market picture, then look at the heatmap or sector performance. Note one or two observations worth investigating rather than trying to explain every move.

Step 02

Run a focused screen

Open a saved scan or set visual filters for a question that follows from your overview. Keep the rules readable and check the result count. Review the columns that explain why each symbol matched before choosing names for chart study.

Step 03

Give each chart a clear question

Examine the selected symbols with a consistent range and indicator setup. Ask what the chart shows about the period you are studying. Use company information and sector context when relevant, and separate observations from assumptions about the cause.

Step 04

Keep a manageable follow-up

Add selected names to your watchlist and remove those that no longer serve a research purpose. Check available event dates for companies you intend to revisit. Save useful scan rules so the next session starts with a familiar process.
