01

Use a consistent comparison.

Compare sector benchmark price returns over the same period and ending date. This helps you separate the size of a move from the price level of the instrument. Review the identified benchmarks to understand which market exposure each row represents.

02

Change the time horizon.

A sector can look different over short and long periods. Review the available return windows and history to see how the comparison changes. The purpose is to describe what happened over each window, not to assume the same ordering will continue.

03

Connect benchmarks with companies.

Once a sector stands out, open sector analysis to inspect its covered industries and stocks. A benchmark return and a constituent aggregate use different methods. Keep that distinction in mind when moving between the two views.

These are benchmark price returns. They should not be read as total returns including reinvested distributions.
